All across Portugal's interior there are people producing well who keep hitting the same ceiling. Their market ends a few kilometres from home. These producers work in low-density territories, the areas losing the most people and investment. Buying from them takes demand where it barely arrives.
The chain is simple and honest. Your purchase is income for the producer, which is a living in the region where they live, which is one more reason to stay and, sometimes, to give someone else work. We do not promise to halt depopulation on our own. We do the part that is in our hands, giving reach and a sales channel to people producing far from the big cities, and we show the origin in a verifiable way so you can decide with the facts.
We are not the ones deciding what counts as the interior. We use the official definition, the municipalities classified as interior territory by Portaria 208/2017, the same list used for Portugal's interior tax benefits. A producer appears on this page when the municipality where they produce is on that list.
