Buying
How do I know I can receive it where I live?
At checkout you see the options available for that product, courier shipping, maker hand-delivery (if you're nearby), or workshop pickup. Every product has at least one option.
How long does it take?
Depends on the product and the delivery method. Each page shows a preparation time (e.g. "ships in 1-2 days") and we add the shipping time. Average: 4-6 business days within mainland Portugal.
Can I buy without creating an account?
No. To place an order you need to create an account first. It's quick (30 seconds with email + 6-digit code) and gives you your order history, direct contact with the maker, and the ability to save favourite makers.
What payment methods do you take?
Visa, Mastercard, MB Way, Multibanco. All via Stripe, Lavora never sees your card details.
Orders and delivery
Can I change an order after paying?
If it's not yet "in preparation", yes, email ola@lavora.pt with the order number. Once the maker starts preparing, it's up to them.
What if I'm not home when they deliver?
For CTT/DPD shipping, you can reschedule or collect at a pickup point. For maker hand-delivery, you arrange the window directly, they only come when you confirm you're there.
Can I cancel an order?
Yes, until the order moves to "in preparation". After that, return rules apply (14 days).
Returns and issues
I want to return. How?
You have 14 days after delivery. See Returns for the step-by-step. The maker is the seller, Lavora mediates and releases the refund once the maker confirms receipt of the returned item.
It arrived damaged. What now?
Photograph it, email ola@lavora.pt within 48h. We mediate with the maker, replacement or refund is on them, at no cost to you.
It's not what I expected.
If the listing was misleading, we mediate a refund from the maker. If it's just preference (\"this cheese is stronger than I thought\"), you can only return within 14 days and only if the product isn't perishable.
About the makers
How do you choose who can sell?
We read every application and visit the workshop. We're looking for small makers with a story, not resellers, not industrial brands. More at How it works for makers.
Can I talk directly to the maker?
You can. Each maker has phone and WhatsApp on their page. For questions about a specific order, you talk to them directly after purchase.
I'm a maker, how do I apply?
Go to /aderir and fill the form. Takes about 10 minutes. Reply within two weeks.
I'm a maker, how do I get paid?
You connect your payouts account (Stripe) once in your dashboard: confirm your identity and add your IBAN, and the money from your sales goes straight to you. The guide How to set up payments walks you through each step, simple and secure.
