Shipping

How it reaches you.

Each producer picks the delivery options that make sense for what they produce. You see what's available at checkout.

Courier shipping

CTT or DPD, depending on the product and destination. You get tracking whenever you pick this option. Shipping cost is set by each producer (a base rate plus a per-weight charge) and shown at checkout before you pay. Some producers offer free shipping above a certain amount.

  • Mainland Portugal: typically 2 to 4 business days after dispatch
  • Madeira and Azores: a few days more, with their own costs and times
  • European Union: longer, shown at checkout
  • Rest of the world: case by case, ask the producer first

For chilled products (fresh cheeses, sweets), we only ship Monday to Wednesday so they arrive before the weekend.

Producer hand-delivery

For customers within the radius each producer sets, the producer can hand-deliver. You arrange date and time directly after purchase. The cost is set by the producer and shown on the product page.

Workshop pickup

If you'd rather see the place where the piece is made, you can pick it up at the workshop. No shipping costs. You agree the window with the producer. It's the most popular option for nearby customers who want to make a day of it.

Lead times

Each product shows a preparation time set by the producer (e.g. "ships in 1 to 2 business days"). That clock starts when the order is confirmed. If the producer needs more time, you get an email explaining, no silence.

What if it arrives damaged?

Each producer packs by hand and ships via courier. If it arrives broken or damaged:

  • Photograph the package before opening it fully.
  • Email ola@lavora.pt within 48h with the order number.
  • We mediate with the producer, refund or reshipment, your choice. At no cost to you.
