Products from Minho

The Minho is the greenest part of Portugal. It rains a lot, the vines are lush, the granite comes down with the streams. From here come vinho verde, the linens with Viana embroidery, broa de milho (a dense maize bread), the Easter folares, the black pottery of Prado and the figurative ware of Barcelos. These are the small producers who still work that way, on family smallholdings, in houses with a stone hearth, in trades handed down for generations.
