Products from Madeira

A subtropical volcanic island, a land of levadas and terraces where sugar cane shares the ground with banana and vine. From here come the bordado da Madeira IGP (protected geographical indication, with a guarantee seal since 1935), the wicker of Camacha, Madeira DOP wine (Sercial, Verdelho, Boal, Malvasia), cane honey boiled in wood-fired ovens, bolo de mel (a dark spiced honey cake), poncha (sugar cane spirit with honey and lemon), bolo do caco (a flat griddle bread) with garlic butter, and the queijada of São Vicente.
