Products from Estremadura

Between Lisbon and Cabo da Roca, with the Tagus opening into an estuary and the Serra da Arrábida closing it off to the south. North of the Sado, still the right bank, sit Almada, the city of Setúbal, Sesimbra and Palmela. From here come the convent sweets of Belém and Lisbon, queijo de Azeitão (DOP, Portugal's protected designation of origin, raw sheep's milk, thistle rennet), the moscatel of Setúbal and Palmela, the Arrábida wines, and the faience of Rinchoa. Small producers still work here, between the city and the Arrábida countryside.
