Products from Algarve

The Algarve is not only beach. It is almond, carob, fig, sweets of Moorish descent (D. Rodrigos, queijinhos de figo made of pressed fig and almond), the tinned fish of Vila Real de Santo António, the salt and fleur de sel of Castro Marim, and basketry in bunho reed and piteira fibre. These are the small producers who still work that way, away from the tourist logic of the coast.
